Our Story
In 2008, Hafner & Sons Heating was established to provide the Augusta area with an alternative to the large plumbing and heating firms. Miles Hafner, owner, believed it was important to treat customers with exceptional service without taking advantage of them or their situation. As a Maine native, it was important to him that the organization provide consultative options to their customers and remain “fuel neutral”. Advising the customer of their options has been a founding principle that all employees continue to demonstrate daily. 2013 brought significant growth and the company rebranded as Augusta Natural Gas to respond to the availability of natural gas in the Kennebec Valley. In the years since, the organization has grown to 10 employees, opened a new office and updated its name. The company name evolved to Augusta Natural with the addition of plumbing services in the fall of 2018 and is the natural choice for all your comfort needs.

Family is at the core of the leadership team for Augusta Natural. Miles & Ashley own and operate the business with leadership from Dody, Ashley’s mother. It is this focus on family that the Augusta Natural team approaches every decision, service call or installation. Treating customers like they’re family is what will allow the second generation of Hafners, Peyton & Zackary, the opportunity to continue their family’s legacy.
